I was fortunate to be trained as a Tata Business Excellence (TBEM) assessor. The model is a deeply established, integrated approach to performance management across the Tata group. It is based on increasing value to customers and stakeholders by constant improvement of organisational effectiveness and capability.
My methodology takes best practice from TBEM and focuses exclusively on alignment within the sales function.
Process leads to performance
Each company in the group commits to a series of core values which are embedded in systemic processes that are tracked to yield performance results.
Deep analysis
A team of internal assessors from other Tata companies spends a month every 2 years to look for evidence that supports the extensive submission report. They can request to meet any employee, supplier or customer and ask any question to validate the evidence.
Benchmark any business
The scoring system is applicable to deliver a benchmark of progression towards world class status for the 100+ Tata companies that operate in fields as diverse as car manufacturing, steel production, hotels, IT outsourcing and the processing of salt.
